Steel mill boilers supply process steam for descaling, heating, and drive turbines while operating in environments with extreme ambient heat and metallic dust. Scale and oxide particulates drawn into combustion air accelerate fireside erosion. Waste heat recovery boilers downstream of electric arc furnaces face highly variable thermal loads and aggressive flue gas chemistry. Cooling water quality from recirculated mill water systems introduces contaminants.
Our Approach
We assess waste heat recovery boiler condition including tube thickness measurements in high-erosion zones downstream of furnaces.
