Food plant gearboxes face lubricant contamination from washdown water ingress through shaft seals and breather vents. High-torque mixer and extruder gearboxes experience gear tooth surface fatigue from viscous product loading. Conveyor gearboxes on inclined and spiral systems endure sustained thrust loads.
