The Reliability Challenge

ID fan blade erosion from fly ash and salt cake carryover on recovery boilers causes rotor imbalance and progressive vibration increase. FD fan bearing failures trigger boiler trips that halt steam supply to the entire mill. Dryer hood exhaust fan wheel buildup from coating and sizing carryover reduces exhaust capacity and raises hood moisture levels. Our Approach

We install permanent vibration monitoring on critical boiler fans to detect blade erosion, imbalance, and bearing degradation. Fan performance trending using differential pressure and flow measurements identifies capacity loss from buildup and erosion.
